Nepal's tourist industry, many handicrafts are taken home
yearly as souvenirs. However, these should not be viewed simply
as souvenirs or handicrafts, but instead as what they are:
valid art forms with important religious, cultural, and economic
significance. This can be demonstrated by looking at three
types of handicrafts prevalent in Nepal: Buddhist thangkas,
Tibetan handicraft, Lokta paper goods, Cotten bags, Metal
Status, Wollen goods, Pashmina and Mithila paintings. Each
craft's link will include a description of the craft, its
importance, and a feature particular to that craft.
